Hornby Model Railway Locomotive Reviews -  Class 0F 0-4-0ST

Worth Buying - This is an average model. The model has limitations and does not have a full range of mechanical or detailing features. For a railway model to be rated as "Worth Buying" a model must score between 4 and 7. BR BLACK 0-4-0 "SMOKEY JOE"  (R782) Rating 4/10, Fun model

BR Black 0-4-0 Smokey Joe R782 Picture

This is a very simple model. It has some nice detailing touches including a fireman and driver which you can put in the cab. This model has Hornby's HP motor which I believe is the same one out of the euro star train. This gives this model a very high top speed. In fact too high a speed. The model has poor slow speed control starting rather suddenly. For its size it handles points well and does not stall (although the model I tested was new). All in all this is a fun cheep model and should be treated as such. Great model for the kids.
