From
the Hornby Matched Train series of train packs, this is the
"Silver Jubilee Train Pack". This pack was released in 2005
as a limited edition, containing an A4 Class 4-6-2
Locomotive and Tender, No.2510 "Quicksilver" in LNER silver
and grey livery. It is fitted with a single chimney and has
a full valance. I personally think it looks fantastic.

This
locomotive comes with three Silver Jubilee coaches,
comprising an All-3rd no.1586, a further 3rd no.1585 and a
Brake 1st no.1581. All are in LNER lined 'Silver Jubilee'
livery and look extremely attractive. They have blue
interiors and coach boards that read 'Silver Jubilee'. Also
included is a quantity of unused detailing parts, including
some spare wheels for the loco and a rear coach board 'The
Silver Jubilee', instructions, a limited edition certificate
from a run of 2,000 pieces.
Function:
The Hornby 2005 A4 Silver
Jubilee is a lovely runner even at slow speed. It looks
magnificent whilst in motion, and even better when
stationary. This model is fitted with a sealed 5 pole long
life motor in the locomotive. Previous models the motor was
fitted into the tender. This model is
limited to 2nd radius
(438mm) curves or greater.
Detail:
The Silver
Jubilee has a nice paint job in silver which is extended to
the wheels which are a quicksilver colour which i feel sets
them off nicely. The model has fine detailed handrails and
pipework. This is the very latest version of the A4 and is
fitted with sprung buffers.
Overall:
My overall impression is well worth buying
because its a good runner and looks very nice. For the money
it includes three carriages and locomotive worth every penny
Hornby Class A4 Features:

10 wheel power pickup
Mallard.
Rating 6/10 Newer models
are much improved.
This model is green, not the normal blue and
is about 10 years old. Has had little servicing except wheel
cleaning and still runs well if a bit noisy. This model came
as part of my first train set. Its got a good to speed as
well as good slow speed control.

Although this model has 20 wheels, it stays
on the track remarkably well. Detailing is good especially
for a model of its age. Survives crashes very well. well it
had too. This model came with three composite coaches of
average detailing. The new versions of this model are super
detailed and have five pole motors which should give them
great slow speed control, and reduce stalls. The motors are
also installed in the locomotive instead of the tender.
