EWS Ballast wagon (seacow)
Rating 9/10
Great model in all respect!!!

This model by Lima has some nice detailing features. All the white plastic
seen in the picture comes separate and has to be fitted to the wagon. This
is not difficult and adds some detail. The only down side to this models
detailing is that the white plastic looks too new. The whole model could do
with some weathering. This model is a reliable runner, never derailing
having an exceptionally smooth ride. This I believe has been achieved by the
fact this model has 8 metal wheels.

Esso bogie Tanker
Rating 7/10 Runs well just could have more detailing

This model comes complete with ladders at both ends and brass metal wheels.
In terms of detail this model has very little except for its bogies which
are nicely detailed. The main white livery is a bit bright in my opinion. It
looks like its never been used before. This would be easily solved by some
weathering effect. See the section on weathering in the
scenery
section. Like the Lima model above this model runs
very well but this is no surprise as it seems to have the same wheels. Lima
brass wheels make a lovely sound especially when you have a long train of
them. I have had no derailing problems with this model at any speed on
curves or on points.

Car Transporter
Rating 5/10 Runs good but detailing is poor.

This Lima car transporter is much more realistic than the Hornby
alternative. It has a double deck and comes with 3 very cheep cars. The
detailing is poor and the model looks plastic. It does come with Lima's
brass wheels and so runs very well. Be warned, if you decide to put cars on
the top deck, the transporter can become unstable and topple over on bends.
Best to put them on the bottom deck although less assessable. You might also
find its a bit of a squeezes to get them in as well.
