Platform Shelter
Hornby Skaledale Platform Shelter - R8638

Review: Looking at the picture of the platform shelter on
the box it looks great and I was looking forward to getting the
shelter out to review and to see how it would actually look on a
layout.
The picture shows a bright
white hand painted top, dark red hand painted bottom and a
straight light, which makes the shelter look great.
That is not what you
actually get!
My attention was firstly
drawn to the light which wasn’t straight but that could just be
this particular shelter. The nice bright white hand painted top
didn’t look white more like cream, which made it appear
weathered. The painted red line at the top of the white hand
painted area has lines of cream on it, showing the person who
hand painted this shelter either didn’t have a steady hand or
eye for detail.
Even with these few minor little details the
shelter still looks good on the Skaledale platform sections,
which are also weathered.
