Review:
The Hornby skaledale coal staithes looks extremely realistic.
After removing the coal staithes from it's packaging I was
pleasantly surprised.
The actual coal staithe is highly details which the pictures do
not give credit for, as it shows wooden panels holding in two
piles of coal.
The dark coloured wooden panels looks almost individually hand
made and glued together. The coal piles also look individually
created and piled together rather than plastic looking coal,
painted and decorated to resemble coal. In area's on the wooden
panels it has even made to look dirty, like the coal has been
thrown in by workmen shovelling the coal.
The coal staithe feels correctly weighted, not too light and not
too heavy.
This skaledale scenery item is ideal for placing beside a
covered coal shed or to be placed on a model railway layout on
it's own.
