Model Railway Hornby Locomotive Reviews - Percy and 2 Troublesome Trucks

Hornbys Percy model looks just like the Percy on the Thomas and Friends show. Its a very nice looking small steam engine. Although there is very little detail on Percy it doesn’t spoil the look of this engine as the small details are enough. This also gives the model increased durability which is important when being used by children.

Percy comes with 2 open troublesome trucks, both have laughing faces detailed on the front of the trucks, one with their eyes open and one with their eyes closed. These trucks are perfect for children to put things in them (cars, Lego, army men etc).

This model uses the Hornby Type HP motor which gives this model a very high top speed but little slow speed control. I don't feel this would be much of a problem as children are likely to run it fast. Because Percy only has 4 wheel it will be susceptible to stalling on points and it either its wheels or the track are not kept clean.

The troublesome trucks look good being pulled by Percy. Thomas could also pull these troublesome trucks (as seen in some Thomas & Friends shows).
