Hornby Eurostar 2014 Train Set

A Eurostar cutting through the Kent countryside heading for the Continent at 300kph is a wonderful sight to behold yet for those on board the feeling of such speed is minimal. This year sees the familiar grey livery give way to the fresh and striking colours of the new Eurostar trains with their eye-catching blue / grey colour scheme and newly refurbished interiors.

The Hornby model replicates this new livery both in the four car train set and the separately available additional “Divisible Coaches”. The stunning Hornby train set features a Power driving unit, dummy driving unit and two passenger saloons. The model includes flush glazing, detailed roof panels and simulated pantographs. The track circuit sits easily on the 1600 x 1180 MidiMat and by adding Hornby Track and Building packs can soon be developed into a very effective model railway layout. Train suitable for 2nd radius curves or greater.

Hornby Master of the Glens Train Set

Production Details:

An exceptionally powerful locomotive was required to haul the LNER express passenger trains along the final part of the difficult and demanding East Coast Main Line from London to Aberdeen. Such a locomotive was the awesome LNER Class P2, ‘Cock O’ the North’.

The model LNER ‘Cock O’ the North’ locomotive and simulated teak coaches included in this set help to capture those exciting days of train travel in the 1930s when trains such as the one depicted in this set would cut through the Scottish countryside and would be without question the ‘Master of the Glens’.

This set also includes a MidiMat, on which the track supplied can be placed. Additional Track Packs and accessory packs can be added to extend the layout to a fully functioning model railway.

This set really benefits from the awesome power and flexibility of the Hornby ‘eLink’ digital unit. Once connected to a Windows PC or laptop and with the RailMaster software installed the whole digital combination will allow control access of 9999 locomotives, plus in excess of 2000 electrical accessories and points.

Included in this ‘Western Express’ set is the ‘Ketley Hall’ locomotive fitted with the unique Hornby ‘TTS’ sound decoder providing an assortment of ‘Hall’ sounds including operational steam sounds, whistles, braking squeal, plus additional sounds associated with the locomotive.

Accompanying the locomotive are three Pullman Cars with their distinctive livery reflecting the opulence of travel associated with this type of vehicle.
