Re: WARVAL
Well folks I've managed to rectify the bridge problem and also a few more niggles. Well you know when MALLARD unexpectedly set the speed record unplanned I've managed to send my class 64 pannier completely around the circuit unplanned too. I know I said Tornado but I was testing the bridge connecti...

Re: Shawhurst - SR/WR OO gauge layout
Having a had 6-year break from the hobby myself, I must say your layout is giving me the itch and inspiration to get working on a new layout. I love the attention to detail so far. Keep up the good work

Re: Seamer Station (Nr. Scarborough) - OO or N gauge layout???
Hello there, thanks for the replies. I think I've created a plan I'm really happy with. It no longer includes the junction which is a bit of a shame but focuses on the station and I think still maintains plenty of interest/potential. There are still minor alterations to be made, the size of the fidd...

Re: End To End N Gauge Layout
I'll be interested to see this develop, I'm currently considering moving from 00 to N gauge as I'm planning a model of Seamer Station, LNER-BR. Have you tried using any of the railway software out there to create your plan i.e. XTrkCad or Anyrail?

Re: Seamer Station (Nr. Scarborough) - OO or N gauge layout???
On seconds thoughts.....I'm wondering if this is maybe a little too ambitious? I never intended to model Seamer Junction to start with and I don't want to run the risk of taking too much on and then get bored/fustrated with the lack of progess. As Si_Donal said, might end up needing to take out a mo...

Re: Seamer Station (Nr. Scarborough) - OO or N gauge layout???
Hello everyone, Been working on the plan a little, nothing much has changed, slight alteration to the junction. Mainly been working on making it less "straight" and introduce some more gentle curves. http://i917.photobucket.com/albums/ad11/BomBaDillica/Seamer%20Railway%20Station%20-%2000%2...

Re: Seamer Station (Nr. Scarborough) - 40s OO or N Gauge layout?
Hello everyone, As mentionned in my last post I'm consider a change to N gauge so here is a plan. It is 10ft by 8ft and I've manage to create a lot more of Seamer. Most notable is the Seamer Junction on the left hand side - here the line split for Hull, York and Pickering. I've linked all these line...

Re: Seamer Station (Nr. Scarborough) - 1940s OO layout
Hi guys, Just been served a curve ball. I'm considering rescaling this plan to 'N' gauge. This 16ft layout will just fit in my loft, the edges go right into the alcove so building in these areas could be difficult. With N gauge I would probably have room to properly model Seamer Junction too, adding...

Re: Seamer Station (Nr. Scarborough) - 1940s OO layout
lol this has inspired me to go check out google images for some pics of scarborough station, so i can knock a track plan together, perhaps back when the whole station was used, theres that bit down the furthest end of the platform, that seems to be unused, the only time I've seen it used was when s...

Re: Seamer Station (Nr. Scarborough) - 1940s OO layout
Good evening, Thank you everyone for your comments, I have a new plan for you to gander at. This is mostly inspired by the suggestions posted by Si_Donal. The curves have been made more gentle to allow for better running/look and I've made several adjustments to the operating area, it's increased in...

Re: Seamer Station (Nr. Scarborough) - 1940s OO layout
Thank you all for your comments so far - I'm working on getting a new track plan together shortly and I'm working on the suggested improvements. Don't worry about the fiddle yard looking crazy, I've calmed it down a lot already - basically just wanted a continuous loop with additional sidings to sto...

Seamer Station (Nr. Scarborough) - OO or N gauge layout???
Hello everyone, Some of you may know me and my previous layout, Lodge Valley (link in signature). This layout was a quick 6x4 to enable me to practice the art of railway modelling. With "completion" of the layout set for next year, my mind has already starting thinking about "the next...
