Re: My (N gauge) table football layout!

This is a very good demonstration of the quality and virtue of Metcalfe kits to my mind - when built this well. If you are looking for a generic building it's great. Scratch building this particular configuration would be tough in my experience. Although some might draw satisfaction from achieving p...

I just have to say that this is really stunning.

Now how did I miss your Class 108 with speed whiskers?

Re: GWR recommendations?

Leaving aside issues of gauge and personal preferences for brands, a GWR based layout should in my view have a 57xx or similar, and a Hall/Manor/Grange (I have all three and still can't tell the difference between them). Within a few months you will no doubt have added several more so initial choice...

Surely 2ft x 3 ft is enough for Kings Cross. :)

Re: New Street Station

After listening to the experts and please don't take that the wrong way if your not an expert but you certainly know a lot more than me. If this does not fit on an 8X6 board I will have to look at forgetting the turn table and just concentrate on the station. But if anyone can shed a light on Curzo...

Re: New Street Station

Others need to provide some input now. If you consider train movement (you say it will be live) then a loco with four coaches would start with it's tail at one edge of the board and move just far enough before the loco ran off the other end of the board for it's tail to reach the centre of the board...

Re: New Street Station

It's going to depend on how much of New Street Station you intend to build - and even more on how much space you have. To literally scale it at 4mm to the foot from a satellite view would undoubtedly produce terrifying dimensions. For instance my own layout of a Forest of Dean station of two platfor...

Re: House for sale with railway or is it the other way round

That's only about £2m - not much more than a much more modest property in London. I know you would have to give up the solid traffic, pollution, and noise if you bought it - but it seems a bit of a bargain really.

This looks really promising PNP. Please post more photos as you progress. I just love seeing someone improve a layout. Great stuff.

This is a diesel/electric that must have emerged from a tunnel at some time.

If OK as even a wild card then I propose next up - a platform weighing machine or chocolate machine.

Re: And The Next Photo Will Have

Noch and Preiser both sell Grim Reapers, Funeral processions, Gorillas, Ladies of the Night, etc etc. Someone somewhere must have put one or more of them on a platform? Apparently not.
