Re: Diesels at Crown Point

Memories of living in a stone built cottage (near Dewsbury) in the 1960s that had an outside toilet come back. My Gran still had an outside toilet in the early 1970s Many a story could be told. (I must write a book  ) One did not dawdle; especially the 'Winter of 1963'. Glencairn

Agnes Marston is much happier. She has a garden; albeit much smaller than before. IMG_3298.JPG Here she is, with her dog, going to the shops. IMG_3299.JPG An overall view of the new street. Thanks for your comments, Itsonlyme and Stainsacre. Here is some more pictures of the Scrap Yard in its final form (I think). :) Staff busy in the yard -- IMG_3294.JPG IMG_3295.JPG Charlie Marston is talking to a prospective buyer. Re: New 7.6x6.9 spare room layout.

I was going to ask if I could join the 'Small Room Society', but at 11ft by 8ft my room appears rather large to others. :( I think I should join 'The Smallest Bedroom In The House Society'.

Your layout is looking good though, Itsonlyme.

Re: Diesels at Crown Point

Charlie Marston's house has also been moved. Agnes Marston is a bit so-so at the move. She has lost her garden. IMG_3292.JPG Where the scrap yard and actual engine shed was is now going to be a street. The buildings are temporarily placed down. As can be seen a lot of work still to be done. IMG_3289...

Re: Diesels at Crown Point

What I thought would take a couple of days changing things round has become a major (to me) rebuild of the layout. Here are a few pictures. Three views of Charlie Marston's yard. The new entrance by rail. IMG_3291.JPG An overall view of the site. IMG_3287.JPG The streamlined 4.6.0 languishing in the...

Re: Diesels at Crown Point

What a load of old scrap, in the best sense of the word. :D It looks brilliant and definatly more than a head nod to our railway heritage. Something not often seen on a model layout. End2end Thanks for your comments End2end. A scrap yard is something I always wanted on my layouts. Can I ask glencai...

Re: Diesels at Crown Point

I do like Charlies little yard, very nice 8) Thanks for your comments, Dave. Much appreciated. Not often that you find an A4 in a scrapyard - the preservationists will be after that one :P It's not an A4, BrightonMan. It is a 4.6.0; one of only two to be streamlined. Number 2859 is preserved at Lla...

Re: 6x4ft GWR beginning layout

Another thing I forgot to bring up is that I still haven’t come up with a good name for the layout after all this time. Thinking of good names is for some reason hard for me, but I should come up with something. Perhaps a play-on of one of the existing locations in the south-western region like Buc...
