Re: Heritage line shunting plank

I went no further with this layout, and it was dismantled this morning. It had stood on end in the dining room untouched for 2 months , my wife had been really decent about it and not moaned, but I became sick of the site of it. The layout was designed to be stored in the loft and brought downstair...

Never tried Hornby HM 2000. I bought Gaugemaster and am very pleased with them.

Re: Got to start somewhere

Hi mjrennie. Why not make a list of what you must have on the layout. A Terminus station? A junction station? Goods Yard? Countryside? Certain things that remind you of time gone? Which area of the country are you wanting the layout to represent? What buildings etc. must be included? Once the list i...

Re: Green Frog Brewery - A Inglenook Shunting Layout

Inglenook type layouts have stood the test of time, (Since 1924.) and great fun to operate.

Are you going to have 'little people' on the layout?

Re: The East Westmorland Railway

It's all about illusion, isn't it? Initially I was very slap dash with this, particularly the back drop/s. Everything could be improved on at a later date. Or not. I was never going to recreate Oxenholme with any accuracy, so it was just about the feeling, or illusion, of being there. You can't cra...

Re: Highland Railway Buildings

Lovely looking buildings, TomTom. The Company seem to have a nice selection of kits. They part fill a neglected area of Scotland. I hope they provide more items and are successful.

Jim. Having lived in a house that was built in 1762 it is not only the roof that is not 'exact'.
