Hi.
I have recently bought three pvb as above tops in mint condition, but have been trying to locate the chassis bottoms.
Now I have tried all Hornby spare outlets to no avail.
Would any one have any possible ideas for matching chassis that could be adopted, part numbers from other makers.etc.Any help appreciated.
Many thanks.
Steve.

I need to have a look if I can find where I put my spare wagon chassis to see what I have that might work. If I can find where I put them I will let you know.

These use the same chassis as the Hornby VDA, SAA and OBA's. You may find some SAAs with broken supports that you can cannibalise? It's quite hard to get the chassis off the bodies non-destructively, as I recall, as the bodies are clipped tightly on.

I can only find two long wheelbase chassis and I am not sure if they are going to be long enough.
Both are plastic. Top one is Dapol and is around 114mm long with a 73mm wheelbase. The bottom one is Wrenn and is 126mm long approx., with an 84mm wheelbase. They look slightly narrower than the usual Hornby chassis width. They do not have wheels. I have two of the shorter chassis but only one longer chassis.. I do not have a suitable Hornby chassis. Will any of these do?

Hi Mountain.
Thanks for looking for me.
I have just measured the body and they don't exactly fit.
Either to small or to short, sods law.
However thanks for you help.

No worries. You may need to make a chassis for them out of plasticard or similar. Have you tried secondhand businesses such as Elaines Trains, and also the online shop which is part of this site, as they sell Hornby and other makes of spares?majorbloodknock wrote: ↑Wed Oct 08, 2025 6:53 pm Hi Mountain.
