Re: BARGAINS!

Book Law are selling paperbacks of their "Ironstone Quarries of the Midlands" for £5. 9 volumes in total, all £5 each. Amazon was £15 plus. Lots of interesting photos (and not just of the geology.)

Re: Hattons closing down

Heard the news by email just now. Gutted. Their trunk service was brilliant. I was looking forward to the next run of barclay tanks. Prices for new were usually good and their pre-owned section took more of my money than any other retailer.

Re: Inverkeilor 1950 to the end of steam

From lurking on RMWeb, I see you have queries regarding the yard points. If you search flickr for the user "Llangollen_signalman" he has photographs of Inverkeilor including one of the signal box diagram which might help.

Don't forget Powsides.

Also useful as a starting point is the pdf at the following link:

This gives a list (may not be wholly accurate) of what was out there.

Re: I need a little help please

"C" denotes a composite coach.

Standard coaches had 2+1 seating.
Tourist coaches had 2+2 seating.

You may find the following link a useful starting point.

Re: Railway Quiz, c'mon post a question.

Still no takers so time to end the misery and the answer is: Henry Alfred Ivatt, CME of the Great Northern Railway between 1895 and 1911. His son Henry George Ivatt was the last CME of the LMS while his son in law was Oliver Bullied (last CME of the Southern Railway) I would suggest End2end poses th...

Re: Railway Quiz, c'mon post a question.

This question is dying a death so time for a final recap... The question was "name the father shared by two of the last CME's of the big four." So which of the four last CME's of the big four were related - you can choose from Bulleid, Ivatt, Peppercorn or Hawksworth You also know from pre...
