Easily dispensed superglue ?
Over the years I've bought and used most popular brands of superglue, liquid and gel, and find that eventually, some sooner than others, they get clogged up. I've tried tapping the bottle after use, putting a long pin in the neck to keep it clear and just about every other tip, hint advice going. I'...

Re: Atso's May/June 2018 Competition Entry
Wear safety glasses for this... I used a minidrill and a carbodium type cutting disk. I cut half way through the sleeper and then snap them off, but there again, my sleepers are thick. I guess one has to cut right through if one wants thin sleepers. The ideal tool would be a mini bench saw. I dont ...

Re: Atso's May/June 2018 Competition Entry
Well done! Excellent work. Yes, like that! :D At first I thought it would be beyond my capabilities, but when I made a start, I was surprised that it was easier then I thought. It is time consuming though, and is not without its issues. My rails needed relocating several times and I dont have any g...

Re: Dad-1 - Workbench - West Bay Wagon Works
First, a good helping of 'Self Confidence', believing you can do it ! That's not just a joke, self belief is a state of mind that allows us to often achieve beyond that we think is possible. Then the second, well perhaps even first, is the first step of actually starting, it's always the hardest to...

Re: Frizinghall Models & Railways
FMR is my local railway model shop and bless them they've moved even closer to me !! When I got started on my Ngauge layout I bought everything from them and the help I got from them was invaluable, especially from a young chap called Sam, does anyone know if he is still working there ? Really with ...

Re: My (N gauge) table football layout!
Rob, I think the grass stands up pretty well using the puffer bottle - not sure how well it comes out in the photos? In N gauge I was more interested in getting a 'texture' better than just flocks, rather than actual standing up strands. For that I expect a proper electronic applicator would achiev...

Hi PNP,
Did you find the Noch puffer bottle effective in making the grass "stand up" ?

Re: Perhaps a Guilty Secret ?
For me, the ultimate gaffe was in a TV adaptation of M. E. Braddon's 'Lady Audley's Secret, written in 1862. This lover of Victorian melodrama enjoyed it up to the moment a continuity sequence depicting a train journey to Portsmouth showed a Bulleid light pacific entering a tunnel. And, just to rub...

Re: MattMay05 - October - December competition
Responses to threads are at an all time low at the moment it seems to me and this seems such bad manners to merely consume but not contribute. I have to say that I find comments like this more than slightly annoying. We post - when we do - to show people what we have done on the basis that they may...
