How Do I ----DCC Sound

Hi Chaps!

Is it possible to turn down the sound on a TTS sound loco using cv's? If so, how do I do it? I have a very sensitive hearing aid and the train room is not that big. Gives me a bad head.

Many Thanks

BILL.

Re: Flying Scotsman fault. Can you Help.

Hi Chaps.

It's back. Got it yesterday. Wirers between the tender and loco had parted inside the insulation ( just as I thought). They did it under warranty even though it is two years old. GOOD OLD HORNBY!
Thanks to all who helped me sort it.
My Best Regards To you All

Re: Flying Scotsman fault. Can you Help.

About an hour later I got an email from Hornby Hobies that my parcel would arrive on Monday? Then I got an email this afternoon from Hornby Tec...

Re: Flying Scotsman fault. Can you Help.

Hi Chaps! Thanks for that FLashbang. Sent an email to Hornby repair department. Tried the functions and the sound is working so there is life in it. It may be picking up power for the sound from the tender pickups. I personaly think that there is a fracture in one of the wires between the loco and t...

Re: Flying Scotsman fault. Can you Help.

Hi Chaps.

Just an update.
Hattons tell me I purchased it in November 2018 not 2019 so the warranty is well out of date. They suggest trying Hornby but I'm not going to waste my time. I'll have a bit of a fiddle around.

With Best regards

Re: Flying Scotsman fault. Can you Help.

Hi Chaps!

Just poked around. Removed the tender plug and replaced it. Now it doesn't run at all. I checked the Hornby website about returns but it only seems to apply to any product purchased from their website.

Ah well!!

Re: Flying Scotsman fault. Can you Help.

Hi Chaps! Many thanks for your input. I have had it nearly a year so I doubt if Hornby will replace it. Might try though. Just one question to ask. Is the WHITE plug to the tender an actual plug that will uncouple? Having just said that I think Roger (JR) has answered that question. I'll go up to th...

Flying Scotsman fault. Can you Help.

Hi Chaps! Hornby Flying Scotsman TTS Sound. Running as normal one day then the next refused to go. Gave it a push and off it went then it stoped. Pushed again and it went, and so on. Touched my screwdriver gently on the wires connected to the tender and off it went. After a closer look I have come t...
