Re: Skytrex N scale LMS Garratt
Thanks for remembering me people, after all this time. I built the Garratt getting on for 10 years ago and memory being what it is, I honestly can't remember the gory details other than it was an absolute pig to do. Like I mentioned on the previous page, the instructions were somewhat vague and to b...

Re: Advice and help plz
It's been a hell of a long time since I posted on here (about 4 years) but I lurk in the shadows and someone has asked a question and might as well have the benefit of my knowledge/experiences. I've been a devotee of N gauge for over 45 years and I've made and run many different layouts from simple ...

Re: Slaters Dressed Stone plastikard
Love the weathering there Vigo....that's the kind of effect I'd be looking at achieving :D Cheers for that  For the record, all the buildings on my layout (a 2mm representation of the village I live in) with the exception of two small suitable RTP's have been hand made mostly using the aforem...

Re: ParkeNd's Autumn Competition attempt - Railway Cottages
the V cut to mount them on the roof is very hard to get accurate - correct roof angle and equal both sides. The solution is quite simple. Either use your existing roof or build a jig to the same profile and cover it with sand/glass paper. You cut an approximate V in the chimney stack then sand it a...
Re: Halt
I've always thought this was a really nice one, Aston Cantlow near Stratford on Avon, Warwickshire.
I believe this was GWR too.

Re: Viaduct in N gauge
I have no intention of being drawn into an argument over this, suffice it to say that as I said earlier the viaduct pictured was a space filler for the end of a layout (or didn't you bother to read that bit?) and hence in MY opinion - the one that counts in this case because it's my layout - it didn...

Re: Viaduct in N gauge
Ahhhggg!...... .......In the above pictures, the arches appear to be tapered such that they are wider on the outside compared to the inside. In real life, this would have no structural strength and would fall down. Very true, but your comment perfectly illustrates another "example of a commonl...

Re: Royston Vasey Station
Forgot. Any help/guidance on DCC would be very useful. I'm a bit of a Luddite really but my dad who's pushing 71 swears by DCC and I see this layout as crying out for it. BTW This station is currently the terminus of what used to be the Woodhead (Manchester - Sheffield) Line, where these things ran....

See this: http://www.newrailwaymodellers.co.uk/Fo ... 64#p139964 (Fatneck was me before I lost my login details)
I made this 3 years ago and it's still going strong. BTW, it cost me nothing except a little time.

Re: Torside & Bilford Railway - My garage in N
Hello Vigo, Where did you source the iron arch bridge in the 5th photo in your set? It looks rather nice! cheers Ben A. Sorry, I missed this one. It's a Wills OO Victorian Bridge kit. I intend to take the top railings off it though and fit scale sized sides instead. The reason I got it was to have ...
