Restaurant car interiors and Cutlery and crockery ?

Post by End2end »

I am wondering how to detail the interior of my Bachmann GWR Restaurant car.
https://www.newrailwaymodellers.co.uk/F ... 40#p704771
I need Ideas for the interior colours of the floor and seats and perhaps any other internal detailing that would need painting.

Also I'd like to add crockery and cutlery and perhaps some cups/saucers on the tables but cannot seem to find anything on the market. Does anyone know if there any available in 00?
Thanks

As it is a BR design mk1 vehicle, greyish floor, natural wood veneer interior, seats in moquette, suggest a subdued dark blue-green colour.

On the tables, tableware is so small in 4mm, you can punch plates and the like out of cartridge paper. three or four 3mm diameter plates will make the table look pretty cluttered, it doesn't take much. The person I know who did this made 'table tops' of thin paper with the 'crocks' glued on, so that after internal painting, then the diners went in, (legs, backsides and backs suitably mutilated so they 'sat down and back' on the seat mouldings), and finally the table tops added last - it's all pretty cluttered inside at that stage...

Apologies chaps. I was ill yesterday and couldn't face looking at a screen.

Thanks Bigmet. Those colour ideas will work perfectly for the internal décor.
Are there moquette sheets on the market in 00 that we can buy and cut to size?

Thanks Richard. I grabbed a couple of those pictures from there for inspiration.
The lobster is actually part of the Preiser set you linked too previously but no one seems to have them in stock at the moment.
Thanks

Don't know. Peco at one time did something of the sort, but it's a while ago since I last saw those.

Precision Labels do O gauge moquette - might be worth a phone call to see if they can help? http://www.precisionlabels.com
Note the lack of an 's' in the http bit - not a secure site.

Thanks Richard. Unfortunately their on-site payment system is no good to me.
"Note: We only use PayPal for on-line order payments to "JR Peck", we do not accept any other methods of payment."

I refuse to deal with that thieving company. (paypal. not the linked site)
Thanks
