Power Supply......

Have been collecting for 14 months now for my pending layout in the new year when my shed is built, so i have vast collection for the layout and as I have been buying locos from amazon, and various places etc, I don't have a power supply. My layout will be 13' x 7'
What is the best power supply and will i need a booster?

Not unless you intend running a huge amount of trains at once. DC will be fine with practically any controller, DCC you might want to spend the extra and buy a higher rated (Amps) controller than just a basic one (because you will end up running more trains than you think 'because you can'). With well laid track (nice tight joiners) there shouldn't be any problem with voltage drop or such.

Rather vague, no stating if you're intending to be digital, or analogue.
If that's been mentioned in any other thread, I'm sorry I didn't note it.

While you should be O.K with one source, but without any idea of exactly what
density of trackwork, or how many locomotives you may want on the tracks it's
difficult to guess.

I've had 3 locomotives running using a 1 amp DCC system, but better to be looking
at 2 amp plus particularly if you intend having some sound fitted locos.

So more info if you can.

As others have mentioned, could you give a bit more info? Are you going dcc or dc, OO scale or N etc? Do you intend running more than 2 locos at any one time? Will accessories such as points be on a separate power bus?

DCC 'starter systems' should be able to power upto 4 locos and come complete with hand held controller and dedicated power supply. I cant comment on dc as last time I used that was over 50 years ago.

I see it's DCC from past postings, and the layout is quite ambitious by most standards. Go for a 4 to 5 amp system with a dedicated programme track output, as you will probably have a lot of locos to fit decoders on, and there's nothing like a proper programme track to ensure that the install is good before putting the loco on full track power; no magic blue smoke escaping...

Take your time on choice of a DCC system, to find one that has both the features you need and gives you the operating experience you want. It's like car controls, the layout and handling that works best for you is the one you want; this is a hobby and should be fun, rather than struggling with a clunkfest of a control interface.

I will be running DCC with 4-5 trains running. Two power buses one for track the other for points and accessories.
