If you've ever tried to play a tune on an XY plotter you'll love The Floppotron

Some people really have too much time on their hands! In the time he took to put that together he could have built a decent layout
This Signature Left Intentionally Blank, but since I have written this and I intended to do it, this Signature is intentionally not blank. Paradox or What?

That's fantastic, thanks for sharing. I had an A3 plotter in my Engineering office, it's strange that production workers that never used to even pass the time of day with me suddenly started coming to my office for a 'chat', I was later told by my Engineers that they had 'dropped' in, on the off chance, to see the wonderful plotter doing its magic pen dance! If they came and it was working, they would stare, entranced for several minutes (much as I had done when I first got it!) I later upgraded to an A1 pen plotter and got a new influx of hitherto unseen visitors!

The aerospace firm I worked at before retirement had a really huge flat bed plotter that secured the plotting medium by vacuum. It was on the ‘works tour’ route because it was as stated very entertaining to watch as it drew up full size parts for aeroplanes on metal or film.
