For example:
In 1960 a pick up goods train enters a small yard through a back scene on the left and continues past inglenook sidings to a fiddle yard on the right from where it propels into one of the sidings.
In the example, the yard entrances can be tunnels (if propelling was allowed?), train sheds (except if there is no station!), industry underpasses, bridges and aqueducts. But then I started thinking about other cunning disguises!
Got any good ideas?
Cunning disguises for tracks through a back scene?
Re: Cunning disguises for tracks through a back scene?
A dense copse of trees.
A complete green tunnel has at least one real-world example.
A frank cliff face (better for a significant station rather than a few measly sidings!)
Guildford has a very nice cliff with near-vertical greenery that would work well
Ventnor
Low-relief station building over tracks..
Rearward track of a terminus station, under canopy...
Through a castle wall? (Conwy station)
Through a building wall (Guinness brewery)
Or as last mad idea: Asian, through a street market that pulls back on either side for a few seconds when a train needs to pass.

Some cracking disguises there. The market railway is just bonkers! Thanks Chris.
