Ian Allan Book shop, Piccadilly Approach, Manchester

Post by Hokum »

I popped in here after looking online for Train stuff in Manchester. The ground floor is books, and DVD's. Up stairs though it all trains! there is a big selection of Peco track, a bit of Bachmann track but no Hornby?

Lots of locos from Bachmann and Hornby, many Diesels, a few steam trains. Some special offers but I don't know the prices (I'm not into trains so I don't have them memorised!) A big selection of rolling stock, Peco, Bachmann, Hornby.

Some N-gauge loco's, track and rolling stock.

Lots of building's from Bachmann, Hornby and Metcalfe. Plus modelling tools, glues and paints/flock.

The one near New Street in Birmingham is much the same, upstairs is mainly trains, both books and models.

I've used both. Their prices reflect the locations but they have regularly been the place that I have found things like replacement wheels sets, spare buffers and couplers whilst other shops are out of stock.
