Hi there,

I have two Mehano HO Models which is the RENFE AVE Series-100 (or S-100) and the train pack is very good detail-wise as the two carriages that come in the pack have interiors and the motor car has all-wheel drive which it haul the a full rake of 2+8. Though the downside is that there is a couple of traction tires on both trucks which are not needed as the motor car is quite heavy :).

The second model from Mehano I have is the Bombardier/GE Blue Tiger Mk2 Diesel Locomotive and this is listed under the Mehano Prestige range and the detailing on the Blue Tiger I have is excellent to the standard of Hornby and Bachmann as the cabs on my HVLE liveried one have a driver inside as well as an interior.

The old Mehano (full name Mehanotehnika ) were sometimes good, sometimes awful. The company was in serious financial trouble in 2008. They seemed to have moved production to China. Just had a look at their website and their range seems to be very small. http://www.mehano.si/EN/toys.php?Id=&idm=6&group=6

This is the link the Mehano main website home page http://www.mehano.si/EN/index.php and if you scroll down and click on the "Model Trains" link. That will show you the range of locomotives and rolling stock they make which the quality is pretty good if you ask me ;).
