Class 26 lighting

Post by GROTLAND »

Hi there!
Does anyone have any ideas how to make the tail lights red without changing them to led's? I think painting the lenses will make the lights too dim.
Cheers

Use the wrapper from a Strawberry Quality street wrapper, Place it between the Lamp and the optic for the lights.

Thanks!
Someone's eaten all the strawberry delights which is ironic as they're usually the last to go! but I'll have a sift through the bin tomorrow and see what I can find; have you had success before with this method?
I don't know why Heljan didn't colour their lenses.

Good to see the sweet wrapper is working well, who would of thought!

What you can do to help sort the bleeding, is paint that optic thing black in the loco nose, leaving the ends clear where the light enters and exits.

Good tip about the sweet wrapper, cos the lights seem a bit pink on mine.
I've noticed just how weak the front ones are-you need complete darkness & a couple of minutes for your eyes to adjust before the front four are visible.
