Motorising a blackpool balloon

Post by therailwayrunner »

Hi

I've got a doubledeck blackbool balloon tram, corgi 1:76. I would like to get it motorised to run on standard 00 guage.

Can anybody advise if they know of anyone who might do this for me?
I recall seeing a chap at a model railway exhibition who offered the service, but can't recall his details at all.

Thank you

Take a look at this thread on another site, it has links to the sites of specialists in trammery. http://www.rmweb.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=91&t=46575

I rather suspect the chap you mention is Alan Kirkman http://www.tramwayinfo.com/Tramframe.ht ... irkman.htm

Black Beetle motors will pull the tram easily. You need the wheelbase (axle centres) to select the one you need with 10.5mm wheels. See www.dckits-devideos.co.uk

Branchlines also do suitable bogies.
