Buckley Steam Railway. Low Loader.

Post by 02_tank_buff »

Some of you may recognise this as my layout Southaven. Well it's hardly anything like it anymore. It's become a preserved railway-The Buckley Steam Railway (with the intention of running diesels at some point!). It is in my room.

nice layout, and some nice detailed touches to make it look like a preserved railway, like the spare pieces of engine, Nice job, look forward to seeing more!

Also building a Steam Railmotor...completley ficticious...
Inspiration-In Zurich, Switzerland, a group maintain and operate this wonderful beast. My Dad and a group of us chartered it for 7 hours over the mainline and the Bauma-Hinwil bahn, where there is a steam shed which opeates trains every Sat and Sun.

Complete with Steam Kettle!

The model...is nothing like the railmotor pictured above, but will have many features like it. It is a Tri-ang coach, with bits of an Airfix Pug.

Tri-ang M7. My Dad had it as a Christmas present many many years ago, and he re-painted it to SR llivery. I'd like to re-wheel so I can use it (won't go through the frogs)

I've repainted two Hornby 4 wheelers to look like the 4 wheelers the Isle of Wight Steam Rly have.

Need some SR decals and numbers to complete. They look good behind Ventnor, even if they're not quite right.

This is where the extension will go onto

The line will go off to the right

You get many Thomas events on heritage lines...Buckley is no exception! Can you guess the names of the locos?

Been off ill today so I've been making a low loader. Thanks to Gallows Close for the tractor unit!!

The tractor unit disconnects from the trailer quite easily. The cream coloured thing I've made into a Swan Neck screws onto the trailer. The top of the Swan Neck comes off, where upon I can unscrew it and it disconnects.

The screw does come out, I just didn't take it out for the pics. The swan neck needs to be made to look a bit more like a swan neck. The trailer needs to gain some track. Also needs a lick of paint, and decals. What do you think?
