EWS locos

Post by Pete »

Hi

Was walking past Newport station yesterday morning and saw these, not my scene at all, but thought there might be some out there interested:

Apart from the locos they show some nice urban details, and a selection of tatty sheds.

Hope they are of interest. If anyone is interested I can post higher res versions to them.

Apologies for quality, they were only quick snaps taken over a wall.

And how about that "gull wing" platform canopy!
Any takers to incorporate one of those on their layout?

Well, I might change the track plan for my new layout now as this is exactly what I wanted to model. :P

Damn you Pete! Now look at all the work you've got me to do!!

Mark

I pass the station often, I'm more than willing to take some better pics, showing a bit more detail of the track etc.
Let me know if your interested.

In fact I might be passing that way this morning, I'll see what I can do.

I'd be very interested Pete. I'd appreciate that!

Some pics that show the track plan would be very handy. Difficult I know!

Here's some more pics I took this morning, I've tried to show some more of the huts etc too for details. (Mark if there's a particular view or bit you'd like a pic of let me know and I'll do my best the next time I'm passing):

This one is of the railway bridge that leads across the usk into Newport station:

This final one is for iinterest only, it's a new foot bridge being constructed across the usk, it's a really interesting design, a cable stay, but cantilevered from one side.

Is that a 60 in Mainline still? I think it had the 'Beasties' over the old logo though?

Great photos Pete.

Excellent Pete! Thanks again for doing those.

Love the detail/junk on the roofs of those cabins.

Hi Mark

Newport/Godfrey Road is used to store loco's only, EWS will not be storing any more locos there in a couple of months and the site might be used for passenger trains ?? (haven't got a clue what they are going to do but im only getting the info from my father) :D
