Parkway Junction

Post by grippets »

Hi peeps,

I thought it I should start a new page for the layout so here it is. Still no track plan yet but i'm getting there, shouldn't be long now. Anyway here some info about the layout. I'm going to be using Peco code 75 track with electrofrog points and i'm probably going to go with concrete sleepers. The layout will be terminus to fiddleyard but i'm trying to get a running loop in aswell. I'm hopefully going to have a viaduct with a canal underneath (saw one at the bristol exbo and loved it) and the usaul stuff like diesel depot, refuelling yard, i'm really tempted to wack a section of motorway passing through the layout  The name is a work in project but I like Parkway so i'll probably keep it for this layout.

First job after old parkway is fully gone, I got to repaint the room and do something with the floor, then off to b&q or wickes to get the new wood.

Get the yellow pages out.... Get your wood from a proper timber merchant, you will save a bloody fortune!!

Hi peeps,

I've finally done a first track plan, if anyone can improve on it then please do, i would be very gratefull. The bit's that are 2 ft can go to about 3 ft and if anyone can do it so i don't have to buy so many points, that would be great. Baiscly I want a terminus station down at the bottom where there will be a lift out section to get into the cupboard, and I really need a fiddle yard.

The bit that says see pic, I want to do something like this,

I've started painting the room but it's going to take about 3 coats to cover that dark blue colour i used to have

Looks like an interesting layout. The only problem I can see is with your TMD and Fuel Point. If that is your fuel point coming off the mainline (see first pic) then it will need moving to within your TMD (See second pic).

I like that bit too - trying to adapt it for my shunting layout.

(seems we have similar tastes  )

It's a bit trainset-y...? The concept is fine, I'm not keen on the box like curves, etc (or perhaps the drawing was merely diagramatic)

In that case you could probably get the curves less
'trainset-y'
