my layout is set in the 1960s(1967) and i am modeling the switch over from steam to diesel and electric era.
i will upload pics every few days as i have a back log to upload.i started work in january and have all trains working and baseboard is complete, power is by 4 gaugemaster combis and track is hornby set track and peco streamline code 100.
the layout is 9ftby 8ft
the power is by wires soldered to the track, soldering was really easy, didnt expect that!

if you double click the image button then when free image hosting comes up press the green back arrow and then they will come up
dont know why it does this but oh well.

it not bad, BUT your incline looks to be to sharp and to steep.

But apart from that it looks ok!

the incline on the other approach is fine as i use hornby track supports i know the other side in the pic looks too steep but it is on my list of 'jobs to do' so it should be sorted out soon,i plan to use peco flexi track as it is better to use on inclines but apart form that its fine. :)

here is another pic form the other side

sorry for the poor quality  the fish tank light is in the way! :x  ,the card formers for the lanscape to hide the incline is under way.

about the wiring
have 4 control sections,3 continuos run ovals and the engine shed, the incline is to be powered by oval 1 and oval 3,when i send a track palan i will show which is oval 1,2 and 3.i am in the process of fitting hornby MK2 point motors and also i am soledering the 4 track feeds.sodlering has been very easy and i will be able to solder the ovals and engine shed track feeds at the week end after i have bought the cork to place under the track.then i can contrinue ballasting. :)

cheers

Here is a pic of the first point motor fitted to my layout, this one is at the tunnel enterance and controlls the track to the fiddle yard.al what is needed now is 3 terminal connector blocks, some more equipment wire and a toggle switch, although i will have the cuircuit for the motor completed shortly,i wont be building the fiddle yard and helix which it will connect to for some time althought when i fit the other point motor for the other fiddle yard connection i will be able to carry on with the tunnel and get it finished for laying plaster cloth.

Here is a pic of the point motor

Image

and this is what started the whole layout,my hornby caledonian loco which i have had since i was 8!

and another pic of the work done on the landscape near the incline

right, time for a change,i have decided to move the engine shed to the other side of the incline where ther eis more space and use the space where the engine shed use to be as a carridge shed, also i have decided to build a ridge where the level crossing near the tunnel used to be.so i have another 2 scratchbuilding projects to get underway with, the bridge for the inline track to carry it over the low level mainlines and the bridge to build to carry the road over the track.

Here is a pic of the platform

Image

Here is 2 pic of the landscaping near the incline

what it looked like earlier today

What it looks like now

thats progress! :D

yes,all working, apart from the side near the tunnel which is a bit too steep, need flexi track to make it work better,it does work but i think when a loco is hauling a 5 coach train it wil be too steep so alterations are taking place.also i am going to build a bridge to carry the track over the mainlines using plyboard and chipboard.plenty of work to do!. :D
