Agree, grudingly although i still think it is that they built 512 of the damm things, can't have been that much of a sucess as all derated from 2,750 to 2,580 hp soon after intreoduction, one of the reasons why Vulcan's finest :D came about.
Re Vi trains 2 words detailing parts fiddley you have to fit handrails etc and there is holes all over the loco for you to fit.
Good luck you will probably need it

One thing to mention why i decided to model old oak in nse years is the variety of mixed colours which made for colourful variations even the 50s had a few themselves. If i had continued to go for the last days of the hydraulics the all in one blue livery would off looked drab and many more class of loco would have been needed.
For my record classes of loco seen in and around old oak in the mid 70s would have been.
08/25/31/33/35/37/45/46/47/50/52/73 and 74s.I admit even nse days through up class of 56/58/59 and the 60s.
A sad reminder of days gone by but so many happy memorys of this depot.

More lights added to the ecs and fuel yard as with another knocked up cheap building.D1015 failed on le dutys due to needing a wheel clean and is basically requiring the new wheelsets as she has the older type.
Heres some more pics.

I never tire of seeing new photos of this layout. The backscene buildings are really starting to add depth and atmosphere to this layout now. Perhaps another cheap way to spend some time on this would be to wire up some lights to the backscene buildings to give it a nice bit of night lighting.

Thks guys.
chris you have been watching and only today brought all my remaining leds out to test colours as on where to put them.I do thou prefer the led strips from maplins and need some more clear ones to progress. As to champion kenny main reasons for her livery is the time span and is a unigue livery that nether saw BR service on her as the T was removed before entering service.I to like the maroon but nse was gone by the time she was repainted in this mainline livery. She is thou causing me a few headaches with her wheelsets.Glad you like her as wene running she is a beest on the sound.

The kind gift of vitrains 47484 arrived yesterday.I tested it this morning and was reluctant to move but have her working now for the moment. As ian has stated a lot of detail parts need to be added and i will attempt these over satuaday. It does,nt look like a crew can be added thou but no bad deal.Depending on what she turns out like i may order shawplan plates for her but have to really tighten my spending for the whole project and thk my brother in law for such a great free gift.

Have spent what spare time i have today it getting 47484 detailed up and as vitrains had,nt added the long range fuel tanks i have added these aswell from scratch. Some over little detail was adjusted to suit.I also gave 1015 another clean and tested and to cut a long story after also testing the sound fitted 47 and 50031 appears to be the inner track and controller as are all working fine on the outer track,so will have to look deeper into this.
Pics of today.

Agreed - some great pictures there Richard. Excellent work as always.

Particularly like the shot of 47 573 - a really detailed little scene.

Cheers,

Mick

I like the pics of inside the fueling point(?) shed and looking out with the vacs in the way, and all the rest of the pictures of course. Champion looks fabulous.

Keep up the good work,

Kind replys guys.
I dont no if its just been me but i have unable to access this site since sat evening any ideas why.
As with 47484 i will in due course order the plates and numbers for her.
With the unknown situation with slow running on the inside track which i had,nt took much notice of until champion struggled with power and stopping as with the 47 and 50 i decided to try connecting to the same combi controller as used on the outer track and all seemed ok this morning and will further test later and has confused me why this has happened.Just to note that this controller is connected to 16v and was on a gaugemaster twin controller and now is connected to the 16v on the combi so same output.
Ian,i have no plans for sir edward as have more important things to sort out, like getting a job wene i am laid off but i will always have her in mind if things turn out.2 things i will say about the vitrains 47,it looks more of a toy and is noisy but is a good runner.

Hi Richard totaly agree the yellow on 484 is appalling in my view it looks very plastickey and Hattons want £74 oddd notes for this.
You got to be joking :D if Vi trains were at around £35 or £40 tops rrrp then maybe just maybe they could beat Bachmann as the price would be a winner with the lights and good motor to boost, but on thier current price the Bacchy one going to win hands down. I think you need to repaint the yellow or tone down with weathering.
