Hello and thank you all for the kind comments, they really mean a lot and are very encouraging.

To answer the latest question from mumbles and chuffer chuff: The cable troughs were made using very thick card lying around the house (art board I think), cut to roughly 3-5mm wide. I then took a pencil and marked the lines where the lids would be. The effect works well from a distance, but not so well from close-up.

its well worth it, on my module layout i cut out 1mm plasticard to 8x4mm and laid each one by hand for a really crooked feel to it all
its these little details that make all the difference

but take all the time!

As has already been said, there's some amazing detail there. You should be very proud of that - keep up the good work and keep the pics coming

Thank you all for the kind comments.

I am in the process of building an inspection shed at the depot. My question: what glue should I use to attach Wills sheets of corrugated iron to card? I cannot continue until I find out, please help!

Here is a photo and a video. Last night I discovered that I can increase the frame rate on my digital camera, so now videos will be "smoother".

Enjoy:

Great picture and I loved the video!

I do like the EWS class 66', I shall be getting the 66068 model soon to go with the two EWS's I have (66200 + 66135).

Superb work, keep it up!

Excellent as always!

I have started to build my inspection shed. I have decided to use Testors plastic cement to attach the Wills kit pieces to the card frame. So far, so good!

Hello

Progress on the inspection shed is slow but so far no huge mistakes (of course, it will of course go all wrong now that I have said it).

Here is a photo I took a little while ago. I was looking at my layout in the dark and there was a light in the next room. The effect shows off the detail on the Bachmann 66 really well.

Sorry, I forgot to post this video yesterday. By cutting out the bit where my hand switches the points, it looks like actual operation (barring signals).

Haven't posted here for a while! To begin, a rant: I have had no luck in the past week when it comes to trainspotting because I have just recovered from a nasty cold and the weather is absolutely terrible (blowing snow, -15 degrees c winchill etc). Hopefully next weekend will be better.

However, the model railway is looking up. I have just finished a major project: the inspection shed. It is made of thick card with Wills corrugated iron (I know it should be asbestos but it isn't available in Canada) and some smaller details. The shed is built "in the spirit" of the EWS inspection shed at Peterborough. I have never worked with Wills sheets before and I am very pleased with the results. This is not the best model I have ever built, but it looks to be about the same build quality of the rest of the layout!
