My New Layout - Crick Road
A rather large update today, at least for my standards.
Having received 66068 for Christmas, here are some photos:
Here is a photo of 47806 at the depot:
08630 shunting cement wagons:
I am fencing off the track at the moment, it looks good but it will be the death of me! I will also continue on the inspection shed now that I have Wills material sheets for it.
Here is a video of the new 66:

First update of 2008.
The fencing is finally complete, it took about 10 days to finish it. The problem was that the posts had to be forced into some very steep hills. Here are some photos:
Today, I had a surge of creativity and spent several hours detailing the depot and the rest of the layout. Here are some photos of the new details:
First of all, thanks to davek for making the sectorisation signs. Using photoshop, I customised one for an "old sign" as depot junk (I am not saying that the sign was junk). After a bit of pastel, here is the old sign, having been replaced by the new EWS depot signs.
Sleepers, rail and an old BR sign also sit in the depot waiting for something to happen:
Here 08630 is pulling an engineering wagon out of the depot, note the rail (my detailing project):

Very good, it is always the smallest details that really make a layout ooze with that atmosphere stuff.
High towards the far post,Howard with a header,Hes done it!Steve Howard has scored for Leicester City,Bedlam here at the Walkers Stadium. the Leeds United players are flat out on the turf in utter despair. Leicester City are going to win again
Rumbled... If you check the TOPS records you will find that the YFA wagon does not exist. This is why I picked the letters. I built the wagon using an American freight chassis, some pieces of wood and an old coupling. It is completely unique, completely inaccurate and lots of fun!Class 60 wrote:Amazing detail, the old sign there gives it character!
just wondering though if the engineering wagon is a kit built/scratch built one as i haven't seen one like that before
