Hi All, just want to check that I have got the wiring right for my layout as I will be using electrofrog points and as I have never used them.
I think i will need two power feeds and a set of isolation joiners at the final point from the sidings ?
Cheers

Re: New Spare Room Layout
Hi All, Little update I have constructed a removal fiddle lane / turn around lane and have a question about the wiring.
I have tried to wire it so I could control it with the second controller
The only problem is my old hornby double bogie stock ie. Class 58 it stops as soon as the lead bogie crosses the joint. I have set the second controller to the same power as controller one. but are at a loss why ???? The polarity is the same my Class 08 shutter works fine ????
I have tried wiring it to controller one and it works fine any ideas ????
Cheers

Hi
Does the engine have pickups on both bogies? One on one side and one on the other, if so you will need to fit extra pickups on the leading bogie.

Re: New Spare Room Layout
It will happen to any loco or lighted carriage that picks up one rail from each bogie. If you don't want to have fit extra pick ups to all affected models, join the two black leads together at the back of the controllers. Don't worry it won't go bang, just set the two controls the same and it will sail across with perhaps just a little jerk. Take a look at the electrical pages on flashbang's website where he has examples of wiring that will allow you to drive your loco from one section to the other under the control of one controller.
Growing old, can't avoid it. Growing up, forget it!

Re: New Spare Room Layout
Not been on for a while so here is a quick update.
I have been busy on the layout all the track is down now and have changed the track plan a bit to make it flow better I went for electro frog points as they look better.
I have started to fit the point motors with a live frog something that I have never had so its been a big leaning curve and still learning.
The layout is also removable from the spare room as well when I cut the rails at the splits it shown up some wiring mistakes which are all sorted now.
Also have started having a go at ballasting something else I have never done before.
Here are some pictures of the progress so far. Thanks
