Hi, are you thinking of wethering the rails and sleepers?

I like the idea.

However remember last time I tried. I have some spare track so may try doing it. I have only just got the line running smoothly since the spraying of some area's along side. Had to scrub every inch of it and I think its about 17mtrs long.

It does need something. I am hoping my gf will weather the 153's soon as she did such a good job on the Virgin Class 86.

Incidentally if anyone wants a Pendolino DCC fitted its on fleeebay at the moment, it doesnt fit the era I am going for and takes up too much track space, not to mention the fact it runs like a dog on anything less than 3rd radius curves which limits what I can do with it.

Saves me putting overhead wires in also, I think I can live with the Class 86 as that is parked up 99% of the time.

Just need the Bachmann Centro Class 150/1 to come out so I can complete my rolling stock.

Any tips on rusting the track gratefully received.

If you do the sleepers make sure you do the rails first incase you miss and some goes on the sleepers.

From experience weathering sleepers does take ages but the rails are alot quicker.

Will have a go next week. What do you use. Arcylic paint and a fine brush?

Think I will probably leave the sprinters perhaps just doing them in area's which are going to be more detailed like the 2 stations and yard.

No progress this weekend as I am back in my home town again until Monday.

Any other tips, I am hoping to get the signals done over xmas and more buildings.

I relocated the branchline station to the other side of the layout to allow me to add an extra length of platform so the 153's fit in it comfortably. I think it looks good just after a level crossing as this is the case with many stations around here.

Arcylic will be fine mate or you can use proper metal paint but that costs a bit more

Started weathering the track also, only done the little shunters yard by the engine shed at the moment, cant tell that well from pictures.

Crossing and town pub, starting to develope the building area now. Removed the pre printed markings from level crossing and customised the warning light sign location to suit layout.

Nice start you got there, youv'e been doing the layout for a few weeks? and already from some pics it looks close ton finished.

I like the feel on this picture, looks wet and foggy. What camera are you using?

Yes been doing layout just short of a month, shows how much spare time I have outside of work with the girlfriend being 120 miles away! Credit to the missus who wethered one of my 2 class 153's, can see some of her work in Picture 5.

Any feedback on the track weathering I have done before I potentially **** up another 15mtrs. It can been seen in the 2nd/3rd picture where the shunter is.

The camera is built in to my work phone which is a Blackberry sommat or other. Think it was just lucky the good atmosphere it achieved.

Decided I dont have enough room to park the various DMU''s that will be based in the yard. So expansion planned.

The bitsin yellow are additions, making this yard area dual track.
