Millsend Layout - OO Gauge Sixties Midland
Re: Millsend Layout - OO Gauge Sixties Midland
Great to see you back Jim - Looking forward to following your progress - I suppose "New Mills" would be too corny and inappropriate?!

Thanks Phred.
Ex-Pat ... You must be a mind reader, I did think about New Mills, but thought it needs to be quite different really. I have been thinking something on the lines of Barcombe, Melborough or somethng similar, it will come to me.

Brilliant !!
What else can I say, welcome back Jim.
I'm not on as much as I used to be - probably something to do with age.
Small, Mmmmm yes I've gone that way as well, although 'Ivor' is 8 ft + long

Thanks Geoff, Jim & glencairn.
The shelf is in position, some Peco flexi and a selection of points are now here, just waiting on a few more bits, track joiners, pins etc.
The shelf layout will be an end of line with station, cattle dock, goods shed, small loco shed plus water tower and small coaling facilities. The
track plan is still buzzing round in my head with nothing on paper as yet, but will be single line entering with a run round loop and a few sidings, like most shelf layouts with a terminus they are all very similar in layout.
My challenge will be creating run down 'without' the industrial look, still plenty of weathered brickwork, but set more in the countryside.
Still no name for the layout, but once I have one and start the track laying I will start a new thread under it's new name fingers crossed.
A couple of photos of just an empty shelf and a few supplies (at least it is being photographed from the very start this time
) unlike 'Millsend'.

Those look like sophisticated brackets Jim, is there an adjustment mechanism?

They have 3 settings Jim, if you lift the lever they fold flat or half way down allows an angle which I used for displaying sets I had collected or fully up as they are now. They have 6 fixing holes too, giving a very firm fix to the wall, ideal for a 1ft shelf.

Re: Millsend Layout - OO Gauge Sixties Midland
The shelf layout finally has a name 'Millford Lane', thought I would incorporate Mill in the title as a memory of Millsend.
Set in the 1960's in the Midland region, a branch line terminus out in the wild's, bit of a departure from my last effort
Will start the new thread a little later hopefully.
