With Space limited to about 150x50cm, I decided to build a 4-Platform "Seaside Terminus Station".
I also realised I could make use of some adjacent cupboard space (90x90cm) for a reversing loop!
A lot of online reading, quite a few iterations over a couple of months, and here we are...
The layout is based on a (fairly general?) Two line to Four line idea, adapted for my own purposes.
Aside: I decided to go with a DC Layout (for simplicity) - Since I am happy with one active train.
The trains are "fixed" in their respective Platforms by isolated sections, and can be "allowed out",
using a simple switch box. A second switch box controls the Reverse Loop polarity & stop-start!
Clearly this lends itself to better methods... Remote Relays... potential Automation? With latter
in mind, I have been experimenting with an Arduino Mega / OLED display and an L298N H-bridge.
Most of the ideas are based on many childhood visits to the seaside - Llandudno station N.Wales!
The Era is mine - Generally mid 60s through 70s, though doubtless with many liberties taken?!? lol
Unfortunately my Landscaping Skills are not of "Bob Ross" standard, but hope to have a go soon!
