heljan class 14 older model

I have recently had a problem with the motor in the Heljan Class 14 . I did order a new one and have added the worm and fly wheel it is working but when trying to install the red wire on the circuit board came loose. My problem is i do not know where to connect the wire.
Any suggestions or a photo of the older circuit board will help,

Hopefully this will help. It might be hard to see which wire goes where due to the spaghetti on top. I don't really want to move any wires as it's all very fragile and a wire could easily break.

I'd forgotten how much of a pain this loco is to service :cry: . The design could definitely be improved and hopefully the second version is better!

Any joy to report? If the loco has no DCC decoder installed, one option is to put it on track with a DC controller set to low power, and simply poking the end of the detached wire onto all the likely looking solder terminals on the board that are missing a wire, and once you have identified one that causes a jerk into motion, then that's probably the one to reconnect it to.

This cheap and dirty 'wet finger' method has served me very well on numerous low voltage devices, not just for model railway repairs. (When mains voltage is involved, a suitably rated test meter is deployed.)

Looking at GeraldH's photo, there are labels to each of the PCB terminals/solder pads. Even with all the wires in the way, I can make out T-L and T-R - Track Left and Track Right, so those are the feeds from the pickups.

I can also see an M- at the other end, so that will be one of the brush wires. The other will almost certainly be labelled M+.

I can also see a W at the right-hand end, which will be white lights for that end (one marker lamp and the headcode). There should also be an R or a T for red tail lamp, and a positive return for the lights, which with a 6-pin decoder would go through to one of the track feeds anyway, probably the Right-Hand one.

So, what you are looking for is any one of those pads missing a connection.
