Bachmann Pannier 64xx 31-653 A / B Differences ?

Post by End2end »

Can anyone tell me what are the differences are between the Bachmann 31-653A and the 31-365B GWR 64 xx Pannier tanks except the running numbers 6414 / 6424?

Also, does anyone know, are these 2 models the newest 64xx GWR pannier tanks from Bachmann?
Thanks

I think you'll find the A/B suffixes are precisely what you've spotted. They signify different running numbers.

Bachmann currently available OO steam loco list.

If you look at the two 64xx listed these are 31-653B and 31-659. These probably are the most recent productions. There may have been others in the same production run that have already sold out from Bachmann, but possibly still available from retailer's stock: you would need the current and possibly past catalogues to work that out.

These should be identical.

From 6430 on - there was a change in the cab profile - with the rear of the cab to bunker being a right-angle rather than a curve.
