Road surface

Post by shunter68 »

Hi need some help on a road I am building alongside side a cliff face. The road will run along side a cliff face on each side and eventually leading to a coal depot and hut. What surface is best to use for this as I want it to look rough. Any advice will be welcomed. :D

Use a slow setting plaster, form up the sides by hand, and when it's getting firmer put the ruts in with the wheels of a junk car or van. Apply paint to the road surface and shake on fine sand, then when dry vac off the surplus. then paint any grassy bits and static grass them.
Growing old, can't avoid it. Growing up, forget it!

That's exactly how I did mine as well, the colour will depend on the area modelled, mine was a light cream/brown.
