Hi Gents,

Many thanks for the kind words, it's very nice to be back amongst the fold, hopefully I can start posting more regular again & enjoy the company you all bring, it's like having your own modelling club in your house.....LOL.

It's OK Stephen, no need for the hit men to be sent out.....LOL, Don't worry about being behind schedule with the Roundhouse, I've only the doors to fit on mine & I still haven't done that yet, boy I can be lazy at times.

I feel so refreshed & ready to go, like a coiled spring. I think this weekend should see some action in the loft which is well over due, plus I've four new brick papers to upload & two new houses, both the same design but with different brick effect. But before I can do the uploads I need to swap over my hosting package to a larger account as I've reached my limit within the personal group, have to upgrade to a small business package (Once I figure out how to do this ?) :?

So watch this space & look out for the big return in the other threads too

Once again thanks for the moral support,
Mike.

Hi Troop,

I've sorted the web hosting, so I'm good to go again, sorry but I've only been able to prepare 4 new brick papers & something that is missing from the range, roof tiles, so I've uploaded the first in this new range, this first version is a red roofing tile complete with two rows of ridge tiles.

I'll try & get the new semi detached house kit uploaded in the next few days. I will then finally get the new style single & double road engine sheds uploaded, just finishing the page layouts within the PDF's.

A new modern style petrol station / garage is coming together rather nicely, just having fun with the petrol pump canopy. Also very close to completion is an add on piece for the warehouse / mill kit. Basically it's a bridging section so you can have two buildings side by side & then join them into one super large warehouse / mill. I'm just about to do the proto build for this section so will post some pics over the next few days.

Remember to drop into the website every now & then, feel free to browse the pages as you may spot something you've missed in the past.

Catch you all later,
Mike.

Sorry to trouble you Mike, but the last 5 brick papers on the page are giving a 'file not found' message - the others seem to work fine and are superb.. Much welcomed and useful

Hi Troop,

Thanks for the feed back D0260, I've just checked the FTP error log, what a Doughnut I can be at times, for some reason they failed to upload....

Issue resolved so should now be fine as I've tested the links (Which I normally do after each update)

I wondered where you'd gone. I'd had other very big commitments here in France so wasn't able to check for a week or so. But you're here. Winter draws on, so it will be time for model making and the stamp collection.
Best wishes

Hi Gents,

I'm still around, just a little battered & bruised from daily living.....

I seem to have loads of ideas that I'm trying to commit to paper before they disappear. I've thought since the warehouse/factory kit is doing well I've come up with the idea a bigger warehouse/factory option would be nice. So keeping things simple I've opted for adding a bridging piece that can be added into the kit, with this new section you can build large units & have them inter connected.

Below is an illustration showing how it could look. Tomorrow I'll build the proto type unit so I can see what it will look like in true 3D form.

If all goes well I'll add this into the kit on the web, so watch out for the updated icon appearing, hope also to upload the new Wordsworth War Memorial at the same time.

Well must go as I've lots to do.

Cheers,
Mike.

Hi Troop,

As promised I completed the proto type test build & I think it really works, OK I've not got another building to attach it too as I only need a small kit on Wordsworth, but it shows just how easy it is now to add two buildings together & form a larger structure.

With a little imagination you can now build warehouses / factories of differing sizes & shapes.

So lets have a quick peak shall we.

Image
Bridging piece is supported on two small extension walls.

Image
Extension walls shown at full height, but you can reduce these so the bridging section is lower down.

Image
Nice wooden under floor similar to the platform footbridge.

The photo's above show the short bridging section, a slightly longer version will also be included so you the modeller can choose. I'll add this to the kit as soon as I can, for right now I'm going to make some sleeper style buffer stops for my Argyle Road project.

Catch you all later.

Hi Glyn,

I'll get this into the kit very soon, also thinking about adding a optional side panel for the main building with more ground floor loading docks / doors, just want to make this kit more builder friendly with many different options rather than just how I wanted it for my own layout.

Whilst building a bufferstop for Argyle Road from matchsticks I thought about building a card version that could be downloaded, maybe I'm out on a limb with this one but it could be an option to some modellers ? :?

All you need is some 2mm card & a very small amount of spare ballast you might have knocking about, one teaspoon full is all I used in this version.

Image
The card building completed

Image
Now add the red & white buffer bar

Image
Now with the ballast added.

Image
The completed finished look.

Image
Same bufferstop but the one on the left is matchstick built version which is for Argyle Road, didn't get that one finished.

Just thought I'd share the idea, is it worth pursuing ?

Catch you all later,
Mike.

Hello Mike,
Good to see you on the tredmill again. All your ideas are worth it. I for one who has no spare income at all appreciate all these little bits and pieces.
Its these things that bring the realisem of the railway that little bit closer. I see on Wordsworth you have a grounded van body any chance of kitting that up?
As usual you are a star thank you
Regards
Stephen

You read my mind Mike. I've been all morning sorting out the train layout. I'll post some photos one day. It's very amateur. But I love it. I am very short of buffer stops. I'm not actually short of cash, but I do look at the price they charge and think well it's a bit steep if you want to buy a few. I love making models on a rainy anyway. Bit of Bach playing, a fine cup of coffee, the dog asleep, a fire burning, a wife making a good meal. Who could want more? I'm a lucky man.
As someone here wrote, you are a star Mike. You really are. And you should be proud of yourself.

Hi Stephen,

I think the issue should be OK now, gave it a test whirl this morning.

So uploaded yesterday were 4 new kits, the "Wordsworth war memorial", Semi detached houses "Bella" & "Sonia", all in the Town scene section. Then the Sleeper style "Bufferstop" went into the rail side section.

I've also come up with the idea for a free Wordsworth 2013 calendar which you can download, OK you have to print it yourself but it may come in handy for someone, I'll upload a test page here so you can have a look once I figure a few things out.

Will catch you all later,
Mike.
