Chris, I like the Brit!
You should try the same photo as if the draincocks have been opened, with the steam coming out the front, that could look good!

Hadn't thought of trying that Ste. I'd also like to try one of Brit on the move with a railtour.

In the meantime - here's another of my dubbed videos:-

Not for much longer Richard. Champion has a new owner and is departing next week (to pay for Britannia and provide a bit of holiday spending money), and will be replaced with a Dapol Western once released.

Chris.
A wise decision on champion, the dapol version is looking good and sure you will like and will fit it well on your railtour stock.

Right - It's been a while since this was updated - and this is likely to be the last update. Old Warren is shortly to have a new owner who is coming down to see the layout in a couple of weeks after our holiday. I don't know if he will take it back with him that day, however he has decided to take it complete with its current running issues. All we need to decide is a price.... :|

This of course means I can now start planning Old Warren mk2. This will be L-shaped, approx 6ft along each length and curved in profile at the front. Initial plans are for a through station on an express line (possibly based on the ECML) with depot behind, and scenic backed to hide a fiddleyard. The other aspect I can confirm is that Old Warren mk2 will be DCC.

It will be sad to see Old Warren mk1 go :( . It has been a great couple of years working on this and I have gained a lot of experience from it. I just hope this will carry forward well into the mk2 layout. It will be odd starting all over again though.

In the mean time, some update photos:-

Britannia now sports the correct early crests for the current era. The late crests were removed with micro-sol, and Fox transfers added. Britannia also has the correct crimson & cream BSK support coach.

The repaint of 37087 and 20309 is now complete, and forms my new nuke flask rake. Lancaster City Models provided the logos, while Railtec Models provided the number decals. Shawplan nameplates are fitted to 37087. 20309 is a dummy Poole loco with TPM resin nose and photoetch wipac lights. I've still yet to replace the wheelsets for blackened sets on the 20.

My West Coast rake continues to grow, and now the Farish FK and FOs have been released I will finish the rake off with a few of these. I have also started adding the logos and numbers to these coaches.

Commission news now. I've just completed repaints on five Class 47 locos for a friend with a Scotland based BR Blue layout. The locos involved were:

47401
47004
47467
47470
47604

The motorail loader is now complete.

It'll be a shame to see the layout go it was like the corner stone of NRM and one of the reasons that attracted me to join the forum. But if it's out with the old I look forward to seeing the new. All the best with MK II.

Sorry to hear your layout is to be sold on. Its been a pleasure to see its developement & hopefully the new owner will be a subscriber to this forum.

Will be looking forward to see how your new progresses. With all the skills you've learnt I bet it'll be even better than the MKI, which was top notch in itself. So I think you'll be setting a new bar for us to strive for.
Regards,
Steve
