Honeywell's Railway photographs

Post by Honeywell »

Ok guys, just thought I'd randomly post photographs as I haven't much else to show right now..

First of all a little quiz.

First two photographs.. real life or model?

#2

Third photo, something that might show for those that dislike the cliche factor *cough* PETE *cough* why so many people model the Great Western Railway:

Image

No steam in that photo, but the station and the surroundings are lovely.

And finally for now one of my favourite locomotive types of them all:

Image

Beautiful beast is she not?

I can post about a million more railway related photographs if so requested..

If that first one is a model, I want some of those ferns, they must be static ferns

Nice pics Rich, what's the loco/railcar in the Station pic?

Great pictures! I for one would be happy to see more if they're all that quality. Great shot of Carrog station.

Great photos - keep them coming.

Pete - any German or French ones to compare with (and strike back!).

Unfortunately I don't posess any of my own photos of French/German railways :( . I have to make do with what I can get from books and the web. If I make it to France later this year I'll have my camera ready though :D .

Do I detect some continental leanings?

Interest yes, leanings no. Purely fantasy I'm afraid at this stage as far as train modelling goes. Mind you, with so many great ideas on this site, who knows[img][/img]

Pannier tanks you say Rob...

Ever wonder where to put that kit built grounded coach from Ratio..?

How about under some ivy and a couple of mature trees..

Image

Unsure what exactly to have in a loco service area for steam engines?

Image

A better view of the Carrog station building..

Image

For those like me that are interested in signalling... the signalbox at Glynasdasghdasdgbfahfkanalkcanvaklhn (It's Welsh)

Image

And finally for today the nice friendly female Mallard we met on our walk through the Dee Valley in Welsh Wales:

Maybe more at a later date... there are still plenty..

The conveyor belt I assume is for coal, yeah..

Keep in mind though Rob that the photo was taken in 2005 on a preserved line (the Swanage Railway for those interested) and the period you're modelling may not have made use of conveyors.. Personally I've not looked into what equipment was introduced when.. May be worth you looking it up.

Any photographs I post in here I've posted for inspiration purposes and are to be taken purely as something to get you thinking.

Hopefully they'll do that :)

I'll post more later.

By the way, the inspection pits were often the place to be dropping ash...

Just something for you all to note down and remember.

Another slightly different view of the signal box for Kev:

An alternative signal box for Southern Railway modellers...

Still on the signalling theme, how about a Great Western bracket signal at Llangollen..

Who likes small locomotives..?

And finally for now a possibly unusual photograph.. The late BR logo in full technicolour detail:
