Re: Derailing
First thing I would suggest is running the HST power car and carriage without the dummy and see if you get any derailments then. If not, put the dummy back on and run the HST slowly and see if it derails. Is it always the same place it derails, such as the beginning of the curve or halfway round? Watch for the buffers colliding (longer coupling needed) or if it's one particular point of the track, check there is no obstruction causing the derailment. If the carriage derails without the dummy then check the bogies on the carriage rotate freely.

Re: Derailing
Run the train as suggested still derails but not in the same place seems the carriage jumps at times?
Re: Derailing
Check the track first for any kinks or bumps... If that doesn't show anything then get a piece of straight track and test the dummy and the coach by pushing them along to check they are both free-running... If its not the track then I'd suspect that one of the wheels is binding causing extra drag on the curves...

Re: Derailing
I once had a Farish coach with some moulding flash on the bogie catching the under frame
Only a small amount but enough to catch and de-rail the coach
So it may be worthwhile having a look

Thanks guys
Will look at carriage with a magnifying glass track is on cork and some on rubber underlay base is 9mm ply or mdf well supported no kinks or bumps

Re: Derailing
Hi,I've got two Dapol hst's with almost exclusively Dapol mk3's.However,as we all know,Dapol don't currently make a TGS or TRFB.Incidentally,my hst's are blue/grey ones.Anyway,in order to have a TGS and a TRFB,I've had to use Farish mk3's with vinyl overlays which look good, but the Farish coaches are significantly lighter in weight than the Dapol ones.So what I did was weighed the Dapol coaches, then weighed the Farish ones.I compared the two weights and added some small offcuts of lead to bring up the Farish coaches weight.
Now my Farish mk3's don't derail at all.
Job done.

Re: Derailing
Do your Farish coaches have interiors?
Most of mine have BR Lines interiors fitted, and this significantly increases the weight
I would be interested to know the difference in weight
However, even with no interior the coach should not derail
If fitting vinyls make sure there is no overlap of the body, which then contacts the bogie

Thanks again gonna try adding some weight if i can get body of chassis ive got som window lead strip 8mm wide i shal try to make weight the same as power car this never comes of on its own strange thing is the train will run several circuits ok before it derails no change of speed or direction?
Re: Derailing
Are the axles properly located into the holes on the bogie sides? My Mk4's axles sometimes come out of there place causing derailments!

Re: Derailing
Are your curves on inclines?
If so I have had bogies catching if the incline is inconsistent and this causes de-railing
Usually buffer lock and only with certain coaches but the normal HST Mk 4 does not have buffers, is this the case
I have had a few problems with my Blue Ribbon Pullman coaches de-railing and it seems to sort out by changing the coaches around in the rake, but these are close-coupled, so try added further coaches even if they are not Mk 4s
