Cheap street lights

Post by jus »

Rediscovered this from the web site article section of the forum.

http://www.newrailwaymodellers.co.uk/Fo ... 24&t=25980

Which shows how to make some cheap street lights. I've had a go, but with a few modifications due to cost etc.

Using some 3V parasol lights from a pound shop, I stripped out the bulbs and used them instead. I also used the brass tube as one feed, as I mentioned in my post on the forum.

Total cost for the materials
£3.80 for tube
£2.50 for rivets
£1.00 for lights

Using 100mm lengths for each light gives a cost per light of less than 70p
Anything we learn today, may be unlearned tomorrow
