Heljan Westerns - New Batch

Post by DrStroganoff »

Noticed this a few days ago and hadnt seen it mentioned here.... Heljan have announced a further batch of Class 52's due for release in Nov/Dec. The last batch seemed to sell rather well, so its good to see there is still plenty of demand for the model.

They are doing the following variants:

D1002 'Western Explorer' - green with small yellow warning panels; ex-works gloss finish
D1040 'Western Queen' - maroon with small yellow warning panels
D1030 'Western Musketeer' - early blue with small yellow warning panels
D1073 'Western Bulwark' - blue with full yellow ends
D1000 'Western Enterprise' - Desert Sand; ex-works gloss finish

Really pleased to see they are doing another BR blue with SYP, thats definately one for me!

yes agree but believe the only preserved 2 not done by heljan is D1048/D1062 but would of liked to of seen a return of 1010/1013.I am sure even thou around the time of dapols release D1030 would sell well.

Heljan are going to have a large price advantage on a well proven product. It looks like Dapol will - at last - get the class 22 out this year and then we can see what £120+ sent in their direction actually buys. Their advertising pushed a line that the mechanisms would be top of the pile for RTR plastic bodied OO. It's going to need to be...

Wonder if Hornby will whip out a few of theirs at a 'Railroad' price?

I'm suprised Hornby havent used the ex-Lima Western in the Railroad range... as for looks, theres not a lot wrong with the Lima in my opinion!
