Hi All
Just playing around with the trial version of anyrail (I quite like it!). I am trying to plan in some large radius bends using flexi track and am struggling to get them four tracks to run parallel, does any body have any top tips for getting this right? I am sure there must be a very simple answer but my maths is a little rusty to say the least!
Thanks

AnyRail Laying Parallel Tracks
Re: AnyRail Laying Parallel Tracks
For my layout design (using AnyRail) I used set-track for the curves, as place-holders for flexi-track. I just couldn't get flexitrack to look right in the plan.
Re: AnyRail Laying Parallel Tracks
with anyrail, you have to know the radius you want before you lay- it wont do the maths for you- and you have to know exactly where you want to put it too.
you can use the freeform flexitrack tool, and you can make lots of pretty patterns that you wouldnt be able to make in real life with sections of track, but if what you want to do is join two sections of track with a bit of flexi to form a reasonable bend, then anyrail isn't what you are looking for

Re: AnyRail Laying Parallel Tracks
Lay the tracks that you want both ends of the flexi-track to join down first and make sure they are exactly where you want them to finally be. Bring the length of flexi-track up to the first piece of track and it will 'snap' into place when you join the ends. Then drag the other end of the flexi-track to meet the end of the second piece of track you want it to join. If the flexi-track turns black while you're doing this then you've over-stretched it and will have to use two pieces joined together. Once the flexi-track has snapped into place joining both of the previously laid pieces you can drag the + signs up and down to get the correct radius.
Then repeat this process for the next radius and so on.

Why are the locos I want, in the liveries I want, always either non existent, out of stock, discontinued or collectors club only/limited editions?
I used to be with it, but now what I'm with is no longer it and what's it is somehow strange and confusing.

Thanks all
I will persevere a little longer!

Depends which track make you are using. Im using Peco OO scale code 75. The standard track distance for Peco H0/00 is 52mm (2.05").WillW wrote:Hi All

So this means that each consecutive circle has a radius 52mm greater than the previous. So whatever your first radius is just add 52mm for the outer then another 52mm and so on.
There's an AnyRail forum at http://www.anyrail.com/forum_en/index.php

Thanks centenary
I am using Peco N Gauge code 55, I wil get a tape measure out tonight and have another play!
Thanks for the weblink as well.

Re: AnyRail Laying Parallel Tracks
Best use Ive found for AnyRail is making diagrams for print with point numbers etc is great for that and the colouring section is handy as well.
