It has run with MK1s, MK2s (or a combination of the two), Gresley Teaks, Thompsons and many more. Because of its diverse history and long preservation period, it has run often on lots of preserved lines and mainlines, which have a variety of stock.

Hmm

I suppose you could put what coaches you wanted with it providing you had the headboard etc saying "Flying Scotsman" :D

I Think if you have an LNER Loco in green it should ALWAYS go with Teaks, even if 2 Hornby Teak coaches come close to the cost of your actual train!! LOL

You could also run Thompsons coaches as well.

I know it sounds slightly like sacrilege, but you could re-enact the 1968 non-stop King's Cross to Waverley with a few grey/blues behind it http://www.bbc.co.uk/archive/steamtrains/7307.shtml (there are two tenders behind the engine though)
In this film,4472 is pulling seven grey/blues,inc a buffet car & while I would admit it does look odd, this was how my original 1970s Scotsman looked,as I only had two of these carriages + a matching mail coach

i may aswell just go for the pullman ones...perhaps they will last longer+look better (even though i could buy a small private railway at the same price  ) better tighten up the belt and save those pretty pennys...
