Re: my n gauge layout
You could try raising the hopper on some card painted a concrete colour.
My goods shed had that problem, when I used some plasticard paving stones on top of concrete it worked fine.

Hi beerandpies, after i got home from york (after drving a 3 1/2 inch gauge steam loco ) i stacked it up on 20p's (only thing handy ), 4 of them to have space for the train to pass under. when i get the chance i will test it with some wood.
Thanks,
Ste.

Re: My N Gauge Layout
I left mine running the other day and stepped out... When I came back the fuel tankers were all parked neatly side by side across both lines and the 220 was inches away from colliding with them.
Still not sure how that happened!

Re: My N Gauge Layout
A really nice lineup of modern trains there ste.
Being new to this I thought that the best trains would be in the changeover period where you had steam and diesel. After seeing some of your's and other layouts i'm now considering a new era for my big track so I can buy some of those really smart trains.
nice work.. keep it up

Thanks Kevin,
I see what you are saying. the thing is with modern era you can go and see what the prototype is like, whereas with the other (steam, early diesel), theres not much left to gain inspirsation from unless you saw them whilst they lasted.
Personally i just run whatever i like i like the look of some steam locos, but i prefer the modern locos, they just are better for me
Cheers,
Ste.
