Sometimes it can be the firewall you are using gives that message. If you can, try turning off the firewall

It was my birthday at the weekend and as someone gave me some money, I bought 2 of the new Hornby R6869 John Lovering & Co No.1 5 Plank Open China Clay Wagons.
They are VERY CHEAP from Antics online at only £6.70 each and including the £4 delivery they only came to £17.40 for the 2.
That's only £8.70 each delivered!
If I remember rightly these are around £15 EACH everywhere else!! :D

They may have other wagons cheaper than anywhere else, but I was only after the china clay wagons so didn't look.
Thanks

Morning all,I haven't read all of this topic as there are quite a few pages.Late last year,I purchased from a large retailer on Merseyside, you all know who I mean,a Bachmann 31-127 Class 30xx ROD for the then bargain price of £59.00.This item duly went out of stock. This morning whilst browsing the website they now have 4 brand new ones in stock at the 'bargain' price of £129.95 ! Seems mine was a bargain.

Just a thought.......isn't about time this post was "culled" as suggested in the very first post ?

Why cull a useful topic?

I'm sure there are many users that have benefitted from this thread

Certainly are. Just as many hands make light work, many eyes make for efficient searching.

I think the suggestion was to remove the first few pages which are no longer relevant as is done from time to time. Black friday offers from 2016 aren't much use any more! Up to the mods if it's bothering them, doesn't make much difference to most of us really, I'm sure we all just go straight to unread posts to see if there's anything interesting.

I think the whole thread should be locked!

It's costing me a ruddy fortune.

Roger, I'm VERY MUCH in amongst that number you speak of, so, well-said.

Without THIS thread & it's back-referencing, I would never have come into ownership of my sole/single "Half-Price" Western Class.52

I hope & pray they (mod's), leave "well alone & as is".

I still use the 'back-pages' (old-hat), to keep tabs on model-stores I'm NOT familiar with,
nor wish to clutter my already overloaded bookmarks with

I know I can just dive-in here, go to certain pages & dial-up what I want..... PLUS.....

It's also a good reference source to see just how much I (& others), have paid for many of our Loco's in the fleet.

Dunno about you lot, but I seem to be 'early-onset-Alzheimers', so, ANY "one-stop" topic like this is ideal reference, to me.

Bet I'm NOT the only one who likes looking back & comparing prices of "what was" & when those offers were rife...

We do from time to time "Prune" the older pages of long running threads, but it's lower priority than the moderation task, which basically means reading everything. The tools for pruning aren't particularly efficient, meaning we have to proceed cautiously to avoid throwing out the wrong bits, ie the latest posts. There isn't a nice big undo button!

Lidl have some DIY items that may be of interest to some modellers. Heat shrink tubing for electrical insulation & hooks & eyes for the fastidious modellers who put curtains around their baseboards to hide a multitude of sins!
