Re: Kernow D600 Warship

I can confirm what Bigmet and SRman have said about the cause of this problem and I can put a few more bits of meat on the bone to clarify what it is. It was I and another two contributors to the "other forum" who actually discovered exactly what the problem was. We spent one afternoon aft...

Re: Kernow D600 Warship

My D600 has arrived but I've encountered severe problems with it on DCC. There are reports in the "other" forum of problems with the loco grinding to a halt after a short while running under load on DCC and mine is no exception. Kernow are recommending the use of the Dapol Imperium 1 decod...

Re: Kernow D600 Warship

The second batch have now arrived at Kernow Model Centre and are being dispatched on a "date order was paid" basis. Hopefully my D600 in BR blue will be winging its way to my railway soon.

Re: Kernow D600 Warship

Seems like I may have dodged a bullet by ordering the head code box version! No fiddly discs. Looking forward to it now.

Re: Jules's garden Railway "Bambrough Town" Update

Do you get any problems with wind blowing things off the track? Also, do you solder bridge wires to ensure power reaches the far flung areas of the railway? What do you use to clean the track? The railway is actually quite sheltered from direct wind, the only exposed part is the removable section w...

Re: Bachmann Cl 47

Being old enough to remember head codes in full use (when everything in life was in monochrome lol) I am aware the second character is a letter but in practice (as seen in the attached picture). It looked like a row of zeros hence my original comment :-)

Re: Hornby 2019 Range Speculation Thread

Nothing in it for me this year. My wallet can now cool off for a year having purchased a rake of 8 Bachmann superb Mk2fs with DCC lighting!!

Re: Kernow-Dapol D600 Warship

Sounds interesting. I must say I've never had an issue with Bachmann Peaks or 40's which have effectively the same bogies. No neither have I and they are good runners too. However Bigmet is correct in the description of the Kernow "floating" bogie in so much as the long 1Co-Co1 bogie on t...

Re: Bachmann LBSCR H2 Atlantic release

For anyone panicking about finding a 12-pin decoder, Metadyneman has typed it dyslexically, and it is, in fact, a 21-pin interface (no criticism intended here). Oops... now corrected! How the eyes do fool you. I read it as 21 in the first place and had to skip back to convince myself. My mis...

New Bachmann Mk2f Inter-city coaches

I have taken the plunge and ordered 8 of these fine beasts. Inter City executive livery DCC fitted with full lighting. 2x FO 5x TSO and 1 x BSO. Not cheap and just over £500 for the lot and I have since put the credit card in the freezer to cool off. However, I will be putting some videos up on YouT...

Re: Kernow-Dapol D600 Warship

I managed to procure one of Kernow's Bulleid diesels when they had a sale of orders that had not been paid for. I wasn't originally going to buy one but the opportunity arose so I just "pressed the buy button". The build quality is very good indeed and there are no "saggy bits" a...

Re: Bachmann LBSCR H2 Atlantic release

I have purchased the BR black version "Beachy Head" and can confirm that it is a magnificent hauler. I had it running round the garden with 10 Bachmann Mk1s the other day. In it's latter days the real "Beachy Head" could be seen running with Mk1 coaches so i'm happy with the fact...

Re: Kernow-Dapol D600 Warship

If its running qualities are as good as the Bulleid diesel I recently purchased it will be a great model to run and definitely on my "to obtain" list

Re: DAPOL 121 BUBBLE CAR

I'm not sure why but think you will find that the interior lights may work if you press F5. I'm not sure why you cannot get F2 to latch though. Most functions on decoders are set to latch by default. have you tried re-settng the decoder to default by changing CV8 to value 8? I only found this out as...
