Re: Are Model Shows Worth Visiting?

Re: Hornby in the news today

No matter which way you look at it model railways are up the creek without a paddle, once the next couple of generations have moved onto the big railway in the sky that will be curtains for the hobby as we know it. I have 18 grandkids all in love with iPads, xBoxes, PlayStation's or sport, when they...

Re: Financial Woes Continue

EXPENSIVE is when you are living in Australia and paying the around £50uk for a Hornby 0-4-0 loco. yes some will say buy online but after working as a postman in Oz for 24 years and seeing how a 4ft bag of parcels gets chucked off the back of a truck its no thanks for me. I still remember the sound ...

Re: Financial Woes Continue

I think that there should be a place for Railroad. As my main interest is diesel, I am not bothered about expensive finescale steam locomotives when all I actually want is a few basic ones to add variety to my layout. Re: Financial Woes Continue

I think its all pretty sad as Thomas is an English institution that has been spoiled for kids because of greed, for crying out loud the Reverand Audry married my parents at Kings Norton Church in Brum it dont get more English than that.

Or should I say lack of them, here in the South side of Brisbane we have two shops catering for railway modellers, one of which caters for American type the mere mention of British and the shop owner looks at you as though you are carrying a fatal disease. Our second one sells OO Gauge but at inflat...
