New Railway Modellers Virtual Exhibition 19 needs you

Post by sanctuary »

I am putting together pictures for New Railway Modellers Virtual Exhibition 19

If you have updated your Personal Layout Thread (or know of one) with new pictures that have not been included in a previous Virtual Exhibition and meet the criteria for inclusion then point me in the right direction in this thread.

THE CRITERIA for inclusion is

The picture has to look like an exhibition layout would, finished and clear of clutter i.e beer cans, cups of tea etc.

The picture has to be in your personal layout thread, not a link to a personal web site.

Its better if the picture is landscape not portrait shaped for editing also close to the maximum allowed size for the forum or a click-able thumbnail to full size.

The picture has to be good quality, dark or blurred would not be included ( although I'll try my best with photoshop)

The aim will be to have enough pictures selected over the next 2 weeks

Remember the pictures will have to meet the criteria and have been posted on the forum after the 12th of February 2009 only post links to the relevent pages in this thread DON'T post the pictures here.

Thanks Aidan

Hi Aidan

There are new (to virtual exhibition) pictures of Starlingford available from page 31 to page 54, although if you don't fancy trawling through 20 pages of images you might prefer to use the 'Starlingford's best pictures' thread that you can access via my signature at the bottom of this post.

As always, looking forward to seeing the eventual video!

Cheers,
Gavin

Aidan, I'll look forward to seeing more of your handiwork. I'm afraid I wont be able to contribute, as all my newest photos are in the Model Photography forum as they were just stock additions rather than construction updates http://www.newrailwaymodellers.co.uk/Fo ... 26&t=21906

Sorry, I looked through these and the words which came to mind were 'boring' and 'anorak'.
I KNOW that the same is true of me.
That is why I am not the member of a club. I would not wish to inflict myself on other people to that degree and I wish others would give me the same rights.
Some members personal videos are interesting e.g. Sumware, but this sort of compilation is not (and who chose the music?)

I think the idea is quite a good way of displaying the collective work of all the members of the forum for those who wish to view it. While as members of a forum we are not part of a club there is perhaps a similar sort of camaraderie between the forum members. The only difference is those that wish to remain anonymous can do, and yet still share ideas on railway modelling; and offer advice and constructive criticism to others and receive similar feedback on their own work.

This is perhaps not constructive at all to the idea of the virtual exhibition, and the person who has put in a lot of effort to make it might find such suggestions somewhat hurtful. I certainly know that I would not like similar comments about anything I have posted. If you don’t like the virtual exhibition videos then keep a civil tongue and simply don’t watch them.

I would quite like to see pictures of The Bridge in a virtual exhibition; however I’m not certain that there are any worthwhile shots of it yet since it is still a bit of a mess in areas. If anything is of use then by all means please do so.

Kind regards,

Stuart.
